About
The idea for The Native Niche started in 2016 in response to a growing need and desire for the local community to restore the beauty of the Mid-Atlantic region and welcome back wildlife and pollinators, one yard at a time. We hope you'll join us!
Our Vision
Encouraging local homeowners and businesses to take an active role in restoring the natural beauty of the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Why The Native "Niche"?
A niche is...
1) A recess or small space
We operate as a small pop up shop at different local venues. This helps us reduce costs and allows us the flexibility of reaching many areas in the region.
2) A habitat supplying the factors necessary for the existence of an organism or species
Our goal is to encourage homeowners to make their yard a small ecological niche for local wildlife through the use of native plants. Click here to learn more.
3) A specialized market or product
We sell only US native plants, so unlike the big-box stores or other garden centers, you won't have to search through the plant section and hope to find something that will survive in your yard. Since we only sell natives, you don't need to worry about accidentally purchasing an invasive plant.
4) A place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted
We love plants, wildlife and our local community! That's why we started The Native Niche!
